Just the other day I was working to fill my calendar for the remainder of the year and I was having a time with the month of December. Traditionally, I arrange private shopping appointments with customers in the days leading up to Christmas but I wanted something more this year. I wanted one final event for December. A last hoorah for the holiday season. That’s when it hit me. I decided to organize my own holiday shopping event! I reached out to a good friend of mine who sells for another direct sales company and she reserved our local community clubhouse. It rents for $50 a day, so we agreed to charge $10 for a table and invite other companies and local crafters to participate. Any leftover monies will be used to cover some refreshments.
We reached out to our mutual direct sales and crafter friends and filled all spaces within an hour after posting on social media. We also organized a Facebook event to promote and build excitement. All vendors are now inviting friends, family, and customers to attend and the event attendance is growing rapidly! Fingers crossed that they ALL show up, right?!
So, the moral of the story is…when you can’t find an event, create one!
P.S. Here’s a few holiday shop name ideas:
- Mistletoe Market
- Jingle + Mingle
